Hi-Tech Facilities

COMPUTING AND INTERNET FACILITIES
1,500 Computers & 13 Servers are provided in 18 different laboratories located in various departments.

67 Laptops are provided in various departments for both students & staff use.
All the computers are networked using 10/100 Mbps Ethernet LAN Technology with Manageable & Unmanageable Switches.

The Entire Campus is interconnected with Optical Fiber laid over 500 Metres and also with Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11) Technology.

Advanced Computer Labs with sophisticated software packages have been setup for
CAD/CAM with Pro/E, I-DEAS, MDT with AutoCAD
Language Learning with HI-CLASS Multimedia Broadcasting Software
Multimedia Content Development

An Internet Bandwidth of 8 Mbps is available over a 8 Mbps leased circuit allowing more than 500 user to connect to the web at a very comfortable speed.

24 Computers are provided with an exclusive Internet Connectivity of 1 Mbps Broadband Speed in UG Library for Students Browsing & 8 Computers provided in PG Library for Browsing.

46 Computers are provided with an exclusive Internet Connectivity of 512 Kbps Broadband Speed (2 Nos) for Students Browsing in Boys & Girls Hostels.

Computer Labs are kept open until 8.00 p.m after normal working hours and on Sundays from 10.00 a.m - 5.00 p.m.

Gents Hostel, Sports Complex, CIICP, TPTC & Guest House are inter connected with Wireless Access Points.
SATELLITE LIVE LECTURES
Anna University Edusat Programme
Organization : Anna University, Chennai.
Objective : To make an improvement in the quality of instruction, training and skill development.
Anna University has taken the initiative to use EDUSAT for linking colleges and deliver lectures in selected topics/subjects where there is a shortage of quality faculty. This two way interactive teaching has been appreciated and the teaching learning process seems to have gained acceptance by the students.
Indo – US/iitb E – Learning
Organization : Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), iit – Mumbai & Amrita University
Objective : Establishing an exclusive satellite interactive network and providing higher level learning in engineering subjects.
Scope of the collaboration:
In this land mark agreement iit – Mumbai and six leading US Universities, including the University of California campuses at Berkeley and San Diego, Carnegie Mellon University, Cornell University, Case Western Reserve University Cleveland, Ohio and State University of New York at Buffalo, which are ranked among the best universities of the world, will join with Indian institutions led by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, ISRO, and Department of Science and Technology to enhance science and engineering education in India. Three of the leading technology companies in the world, Microsoft, Qualcomm, and Canence, will also be funding this initiative.
They will depute their eminent faculties to teach full-fledged engineering subjects to engineering colleges and Universities all over India. These eminent faculties will physically come to India per semester and deliver the lectures live and interactively over special satellite network.
